Freezer cooking

Day 2 for stocking your freezer. Doing these in order will help because we are batch cooking some items that we will be using later in the month, so if you haven’t done day 1 yet, you can find it here: Crockpot Chicken Fajitas

Today is a classic BLT.

We aren’t freezing a full meal, but if you are going to cook bacon you might as well cook an entire package or two and only clean up the greasy mess once. Bacon freezes very well. I have an entire post about freezing bacon and all the ways you can use it.

Here’s my method:

Use two baking pans with sides. Line them with aluminum foil. Cut the bacon slices in half. Lay them out on the pan so that they have a little space on each side. Cover with aluminum foil.

Bake at 425 for about 10 minutes or until they reach the level of crispiness you like. I usually bake 2 packages at once and it takes 2 rounds.

Enjoy your BLT’s for dinner.

Put all of the rest of the bacon in a air tight container with wax paper in between each layer.

Now you have bacon all ready for breakfasts and for some future meals that we will be making in this series.

Be sure to check out our other posts in this series. It is a great low stress way to stock your freezer and save yourself time and energy.

See Day 3: Nacho Cheese Soup here so you can make sure you have all the ingredients you need for tomorrow.
