Combine the the dry ingredients. Mix.
Combine the egg, pears, sugar and cooking oil. Add all at once to the dry ingredients and stir until just mixed.
Pour batter into muffin tins filling halfway full. I like to sprinkle a little bit of sugar and cinnamon on top before baking it gives a nice crunch to the top of the muffin.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until the muffins are browned and cooked.
