Fels Naptha Bars: Laundry Stain Remover Cheap Tip -

For under $2 Fels Naptha bars are miracle workers! I discovered them about 4 months ago and wonder what I did before to get rid of awful stains. The bars are a skin irritant so they really are only meant for cleaning clothes or other items where the soap will be rinsed out with water before coming in contact with your skin. Here are a few things I’ve discovered using this soap for.

Removing Clothing Stains

If you get the bar a little bit wet and then rub it into formula, baby food, or um stains that are a result of these like spit up and diaper leaks, then run it through your laundry as usual, the stains disappear!
Stains on collars or under the arm from perspiration often come out just with the application of the bar as described previously. If the stain is older I’ve found that if you let the peice of clothing sit for about 30 minutes in 2 cups warm water and 1/2 cup white vinegar and then apply the naptha bar and wash the perspiration stain comes out.
Any oil based stain like lipstick or other makeup, chocolate, and even mustard and ketchup. With darker colored stains let the soap sit on it for at least 20 minutes before running it through the laundry.

Other Uses for Fels Naptha Bars

Making Homemade Laundry Detergent or Laundry Sauce.

Cleaning areas with hard water stains like the tub or kitchen sink.

Spot treating stains in carpet. (Wet the bar, rub into carpet stain area, let sit then spray area with water bottle and soak up water with paper towels)

I found the bars at my local walmart in the laundry detergent aisle, but if you can’t find it, it can be purchased online through Amazon. Which is where I found the lowest online price for it. I’ve also been told that some hardware stores carry Fels Naptha Bars too, so you could always check your local hardware store too.
