I took piano lessons for 10 years, and I’ve taught lessons since I was in college (I’m not going to say how long that has been). I never take on a lot of students at once. I don’t really teach for the money. I teach because I love seeing the world of music open up to a person, especially kids. There is nothing quite like music. I have used a lot of different book series to teach. Really I choose based on what I know about the student. That being said, I most often use the Hal Leonard Series. While the books are great, there are some concepts that always need additional reinforcement or need to be taught in numerous ways. So I’ve put together a pinterest board of resources and ideas that go along with the first book. I included that page number/concept from the book that coincides with the pin, so that it is easy to know when to use a resource. I have found this super helpful in my own lessons. I add resources as I find them.
