So there are things that always seem to have coupons available (hair products, detergent, diapers, cereal) and there are other items that never have coupons. Those items might be eating into your budget. I use a number of tactics to get them at a cheaper price. Today I am just going to talk about reward sites.

Our family uses two main reward sites. MyPoints, and Swagbucks. There are pros and cons to each, and we have tried many different sites, but these are the two that have stuck.

MyPoints

I use this because it is easy. You sign up, they send you emails, you click on the email you earn 5 points. They also give you points when you purchase things online through them. Basically you visit their website and click on Amazon, purchase your item and get points. They almost always have point rewards for Amazon and Ebay which is why we still use MyPoints. Around October I cash out all my points and use them to get gift cards for funding Christmas purchases. Last year I cashed out $150 worth in Gift Cards. Not too shabby for something that I spent very little time thinking about or doing.

If you are interested in signing up for My Points I am happy to refer you. You earn an extra $5 in points when you sign up through a referral. You can email me for a referral link.

Swagbucks

I use Swagbucks search button and earn points that way. I’ll be honest sometimes I switch over to Google if I am not finding what I want, but for the most part it does a good job. Swagbucks also offers daily surveys and swag codes to earn more points. I cash out whenever I reach enough to get a $25 gift card to Walmart or Target and use them to purchase items that never seem to be on sale or have coupons. They have a lot going on on their website and it can be easy to waste a lot of time there. I go in for about 10 minutes everyday and try to get the most Swagbucks for my time. They also offer points for purchasing items on other websites through them. Usually when I am looking to buy something online I visit mypoints and swagbucks sites and see who is offering the most points per dollar for my purchase. Swagbucks has a bit more variety in stores than mypoints but not always the best point offer.

I also have a referral link for Swagbucks; www.swagbucks.com/refer/rhayes13
