We had some bananas a bit past their prime and I thought who doesn’t like bananas and chocolate so why not banana bread and brownies? And this double layered treat was born. We’ve been enjoying it the past couple of days. So without further ado, the recipe:

Brownie bottom:

Make brownie mix according to package directions and pour into a well greased 9×13 pan. Set aside.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Banana Bread Top:

2 ripe bananas

1 egg

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup cooking oil

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

1 1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tep baking soda

1 1/2 cups flour

Mash the bananas in a large bowl. Add all other ingredients except for flour. Blend with blender about 1 minute. Add flour slowly while mixing.

Pour the banana batter on top of the brownie batter using a spatula to spread it evenly on top.

Bake for abour 35 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Enjoy! This is great with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream (reminds me of a Sundae). Plus I love recipes that help me use up items I might otherwise throw away like over ripe bananas.
