This has been a DIY project that we have put to good use.

What you need:

Box –I used a priority mail box IĀ got from a recent etsy order. I liked it because it is fairly sturdy but still thin enough that it wasn’t horrible to cut through.

Scissors

Pattern for shape you want to create

Chalkboard paint

Paintbrush

Chalk

I enlarged 2 simple thought bubble clipart shapes and used them as a template on the box. After cutting out the shape paint it following your chalk paint directions. The cardboard did curve a little while painting but when the paint dried it went flat again. Let the paint dry (most chalkboard paints need at least 24 hours) and you are ready to go! We’ve used it for the cute Father’s Day cards shown. I’ve also used them to document my son’s height and weight when he turns a month older.
