Halloween dinner is something my kids talk about for weeks leading up to Halloween. I’m pretty sure Kian likes it more than the trick or treating. We usually do it the day before, just so that we can enjoy it and we don’t feel like we have to rush out the door. I thought sharing our dinner would be a good source of ideas for other people.

For our main dish we had Mummy Dogs; hot dogs wrapped in crescents. It’s super easy and everyone loves them.

We also had deviled eggs. To make them fit their name a little better, I added a little bit of food coloring to make the inner part green and used small red pepper slices for the horns.

FrankenJello was also on the menu. I wish I had a better picture, but it’s basically green jiggler jello. This is the must have item every year at Halloween for both boys. Not sure why but they talk about them every year. This video tutorial shows you exactly how to make it.

Bones and blood (breadsticks and marinara sauce). This was so easy and turned out so well; I love when that happens. After making the breadstick dough and rolling it out. Cut it into sticks as usual but then cut each end about 2 inches in. Spread the ends and roll them slightly to make the breadsticks look like bones. As You Wish Breadsticks

I can't remember where I got this recipe. I wrote it into my recipe book years ago, but it is our all time favorite breadstick recipe. The breadsticks are soft yet a bit chewy.

Candy corn fruit cups are super simple and fun. Bottom layer is pineapple (we’ve done pears before too), the next layer is mandarin oranges and then top it with whipped cream.

We also had a fun veggie platter and ghost slime (salad dressing).

Last but not least, we decorated halloween shaped sugar cookies.
